Instructions
We intend to cap the size of our tournament at 50 teams this year, and will therefore set a soft cap of two teams accepted per school before April 1st. We encourage you to register up to as many as five teams. If we do not reach our cap we will be admitting additional teams, with final notification sent out after 11:59 PM on April 4th. We will try to accommodate any changes made to registration prior to this deadline, but ask that you notify us as soon as you can.
What if my school has an uneven number of students who would like to attend?
We can assign hybrid partnerships between schools. Simply enter the unpaired student on the registration form and we will confirm registration by April 4th. Of course, we recommend first seeking another debater from your school.
What if I have more than two teams?
As Osterweis grows, we're excited by the growing enthusiasm for debate demonstrated by increasing demand; unfortunately, a large tournament strains our staff and facilities. As a consequence, we must place caps on attendance to ensure that all competitors enjoy a quality debating experience. Do not plan on these additional students being able to compete.
I'm a student without an adult advisor.
We prefer that you find a faculty member at your school to advise you. However, you can still attend without an advisor. On the registration form, for Advisor Contact Information, simply include the phone number of your high school or a teacher who knows you are attending.
