Thanks to the generosity of Jonathan Edwards College at Yale in coordination with the Rollin G. Osterweis Fund, The Osterweis Tournament is a free tournament for Connecticut high school students to experience the collegiate style of parliamentary debate. At the Yale campus on Sunday, April 10th, this year's participants learned about parliamentary procedure in the morning, then debated with a partner for four preliminary rounds. Debate topics involved American political issues familiar to the average student. No previous debate experience is expected; in fact, novice debaters are highly encouraged to attend.
